$1,500 Grant for Senior Wellness Program

Fort Scott Presbyterian Village is pleased to announce that we’ve received a $1,500 grant from The Community Foundation of Southeast Kansas to fund resident access to Health for Life.

Health for Life is a workout center with a specialized trainer located at Mercy Hospital. “Our thought is that if we can get seniors to go out and work with someone and begin to get fit prior to an episode that may occur in their life such as the flu, or other illness, they will bounce back quicker and have a greater resistance to a physical decline,” said Ginger Nance, executive director. “We hope to increase their overall mental and physical health. We will provide free transportation to and from the center to allow all equal access regardless of their ability to drive.”

We are grateful for this grant from the The Community Foundation of Southeast Kansas and look forward to helping even more seniors live their best life possible.

The Community Foundation of Southeast Kansas hosts individual charitable funds, created by donors who have a passion for giving back to the community.
