Fort Scott PMMA supports caregivers by providing adult day services

A caregiver’s duties never end. It’s a 24/7 job to provide support for an adult loved one who requires daily assistance.

So, what do caregivers do when they need a vacation or a day off?

Fort Scott Presbyterian Village is here to help.

Adult day services allow caregivers to take a break while feeling assured that their loved one is safe and comfortable in a supportive environment.

Day services are available in Fort Scott’s assisted living setting, or trained staff will provide home-based services if needed.

“It’s a good way for you to take time for yourself while knowing your loved one is in good hands,” said Becky Kellum, marketing director.

While caregivers are away, loved ones can visit the Village and enjoy a long list of amenities, including relaxing in a suite apartment, a buffet style lunch, transportation, cable tv, wireless internet and life enrichment programming.

Other in-house services include: Kindle e-reader, emergency call system, telephone with unlimited long distance, Wii gaming system, an exercise program, shower, day trips, salon services and Evening Bistro.

Home-based services include:

  • Homemaker services, no physical contact
  • Hands on care
  • Medication set up
  • Nurse monitoring visit
  • In-town transportation
  • In-town transportation with staff
  • Out of town transportation
  • Errand service
  • Village meal delivery

To take advantage of these services, please contact Becky Kellum at 620-223-5550 or RKellum@pmma.org.
