Lauren Flater awarded PMMA scholarship

Lauren Flater recently received the Presbyterian Manors of Mid-America Employee Scholarship. Ginger Nance, Fort Scott Presbyterian Village executive director, presented the scholarship check to Lauren at the community’s Christmas party. Lauren applied for the scholarship in April 2019.

Lauren started working at Fort Scott Presbyterian Village roughly nine and a half years ago and served in a part-time capacity in her first four years with the community. Lauren currently helps with the Quality Assurance Incentive Program and has served as the program’s monitor.

Lauren attended Pittsburg State University and originally planned to pursue a degree in business management. As time went on, she shifted her goals and is currently attending nursing school. Her long-term plan is to become a registered nurse.

When Lauren is not working, she spends time with Nolan, her significant other, and their two dogs Carlie, a Shih Tzu mix, and Pyper, a mixed breed.

Lauren likes to hang out at home with Nolan and her dogs. She said this is her most relaxing activity.
